Letter to the Editor - Thanks to Northern Montana Hospital for outstanding performance

I was vacationing in Havre in August when I experienced a medical issue.

I went to the Northern Montana Hospital to seek remedy and received the best medical care I’ve ever encountered.

After a few tests, the emergency room physician, Dr Chip Smith, immediately recognized the potential severity of my condition and required overnight observation, along with intravenous fluids and antibiotics.

By the next morning, (with continued tests) the hospitalist, Dr. Carrie Lien, had communicated with a specialist in Billings and insisted that I be emergency air evacuated to Billings for a life saving procedure that was unavailable in Havre.

The professionalism, efficiency and obvious pride in providing the highest level of medical care possible was evident to me. But of particular note was the personal care and attention provided by every staff member at this facility, medical and administrative.

I’d like to thank Northern Montana Hospital for their outstanding performance.
