Clack Foundation meeting featuring Clouse dinosaur presentation set for Saturday

The annual H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Memorial Museum Foundation meeting will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Havre Inn and Suites.

“The purpose of the Clack Foundation is to provide support for the Hill County Clack Museum and the Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump,”  Foundation Board President Elaine Morse said. 

The annual meeting is open to the community with purchase of a ticket. The meeting includes lunch, a presentation by meeting’s guest speaker and a one-year membership in the foundation.

For people interested in a 2019-2020 annual membership costs are $50 for individuals, for a family $100, a sponsor $175, sustaining $250 and as a patron $500. Lifetime memberships at different levels also are available.

The guest speaker at the meeting is paleontologist Vicki Rae Clouse, a professor at Montana State University-Northern.

“She is going to specifically talk about things that have been found locally and that are in our area and things of interest as far as fossils and dinosaurs in our area,” Morse said.

Morse added that Clouse has been involved in dinosaur digs and exploration in Hill County and other areas.

“Vicki is an excellent speaker and she is a local expert who was born and raised in Havre,” she said. “She has gone on to be a world expert, she is kind of our own personal Jack Horner.

“I do a little presentation to kind of bring people up to speed on what the foundation has been doing as far as supporting the buffalo jump and the museum and what our plans are in going forward,” Morse added. “Just kind of a general update.”

She added that for people interested in dinosaurs this meeting will be best way to local information and find out what’s going on.

Havre Inn and Suites is located at 1425 U.S Hwy 2 northwest.

People who are interested can R.S.V.P and  purchase their tickets by calling the museum at 265-4000 or 265-9516 or can pay upon arrival of the meeting.
