Obituary - Betty Mae Keough

Betty Mae Keough, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her Havre home with her daughter Melinda and sister Mary Jane by her side on October 27, 2019. Cremation has taken place, and in accordance with Betty's wishes, her ashes will be taken to the Oregon coast to be with her mother Mary and her niece Theeme in a private ceremony.

Her family has suggested memorial donations be made in Betty's name to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3003 Old Post Road, Havre, MT 59501. Betty was born on January 26, 1948, in Glendive, and was raised in Glendive, attending schools there. Following her school years, she married Bob Keough, and they settled in Glasgow where they raised their two daughters. They later divorced, but remained good friends. Betty relocated to Havre in 2000. She worked hard as a housekeeper, and was best known for her work at the Herberger's store, as she made many, many friends there.

After retirement, Betty spent as much time with her grandchildren as she possibly could, as they were the absolute light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her biological father Royce Morris; parents, Alvin D. Johnson and Mary Callahan; aunt, Agnes Aitken; and niece, Theeme Moran.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Melinda Keough-Pozega and Melissa (Todd) Boucher, both of Havre; grandchildren, Jay, Cassi, Somer, Matt, Samantha, Shaena, and Sabra; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Dell) Marshall of Silverton, ID; brothers, Thomas (Delores) Johnson of Couer D'Alene, ID and Dale (Linda) Johnson of Post Falls, ID; and several nieces and nephews.
