Obituary - James Gordon Young

James Gordon Young was born June 7, 1924, in Havre, MT, and died October 26, 2019, in Belgrade, MT.

He was the son of Gordon and Ruth (Solomon) Young. Jim received his education in Havre, MT.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a mechanics mate. He worked for Pacific Hide and Fur for over 27 years as a manager and then at Montana State University in boiler engineering.

Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all spending time at the lake house at Canyon Ferry in Helena, MT.

He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy and brothers Bill and Bob.

Jim was married to Juanita A. (Nita) Hoehner on June 1, 1947. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2003.

They had four children, the Rev. Gordon (Dayle) Young of Salt Lake City, UT; Linda (Jon) Williamson of Butte, MT; Marcia (Tom) Jacobs of Bozeman, MT and Douglas Young of Minneapolis, MN. His grandchildren included Nick (Jill) Jacobs and Charlie (Denya) Jacobs; Maria (Kevin) Biastoch, Mike (Laura) Williamson, Kevin Williamson and Jeff Williamson; Julie (Jeff) Taggert, Reed Young and Allen Young; Katie Young and Elizabeth Young (Johnny).

Jim had 17 great-grandchildren, Tyson, Alina, Glenna, Kiersa, Avery, Emma and Luke Jacobs; Benjamin and Abby Biastoch; Elin Williamson; Haylee Touse, Wyatt Horn, Ryann Young, Milo and Maxson Hopper; Olympia and Helena Taggert.

A memorial service will be held at Gold Hill Lutheran Church, 934 Placer Street, Butte, MT at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4th.
