Obituary - Ardyce Jones

Ardyce Jones of Havre, 87, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, at the Northern Montana Care Center.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. November 22, 2019, at the Grace Chapel in the Northern Montana Care Center. Deacon Tim Maroney will officiate the service. A graveside service will be held in Froid, Montana, at a later date.

Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ardyce was born April 1, 1932, in Froid, daughter of Ewald and Mildred (Berg) Christoffersen. She attended high school there and upon graduating went to the University of Montana, majoring in music. She soon changed her educational path and decided to pursue a degree in business at the Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington. Upon graduation, she was employed by an insurance company there.

She met Walter Jones while living in Spokane and the couple was married on August 5, 1951. They moved to Williston, North Dakota then to Culbertson, Montana before coming home to settle at the family farm in Froid. They were blessed with three children, Deborah, Dana and Kelly. She combined being a homemaker with a business career for much of her life as she was employed as a part time legal secretary for a local attorney J. B. Wallander.

The family attended the Froid Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, served on the church council and sang in the choir for many years. She was also involved with her children's school and sporting events. She also was a member of the Women's Club and enjoyed hosting events for friends in her home. She was well known for her wok demonstrations and hand-crafted teddy bears, dolls, dinosaurs and loons for local craft fairs.

Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Duane Christoffersen, and one infant grand-daughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Clayton of Havre, Dana (Mark) West of Billings, and son Kelly (Judy) Jones of Havre, granddaughters, Cammie (Braden) Fink and Kelsey (Chad) Smith of Billings, Kayla (Abe Koerper) Clayton and Elias Clayton of Pennsylvania, her sister, Margaret Andersen of Bozeman, and five great-grandsons, Oliver, Austin, Brooks, Collin and Landis.
