BILLINGS — The Guardians Project anti-corruption task force welcomed Thursday top officials from the U.S. Department of Interior and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Offices of Inspector General to a meeting about Montana’s efforts to fight federal program fraud, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said.
The program, started when Mike Cotter was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Montana, led embezzlement investigations on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation in which numerous people were indicted for embezzling from the tribe, misappropriating federal funds, tax evasion...
