Name of hit-and-run crash victim released

The Hill County coroner released Monday afternoon the name of a 16-year-old girl who was killed during a hit-and-run crash Thursday.

Hill County Sheriff Jamie Ross said Lacey Kaide Arkinson of Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, 16, died as a result of injuries sustained in the hit-and-run crash that occurred Thursday night at Buttercup and Laredo roads on Rocky Boy.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Sandra Barker said Monday that the investigation is still on-going.

Montana Highway Patrol said a vehicle was southbound on Laredo Road when Arkinson ran out in the road. The vehicle impacted her directly, throwing her off the right side of the road. Arkinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the vehicle is suspected to be either a 2015 or 2016 dark colored Dodge Journey. Authorities said vehicle should have damage on the front-passenger side of the vehicle, specifically the fog light area of the vehicle. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rocky Boy criminal investigators are also investigating the crash.

Anyone with information regarding a vehicle matching the description ia asked to notify law enforcement.
