Rocky Boy police ask for help in hit and run investigation

Police are asking the public for help after the death of a juvenile female in a hit-and-run on Laredo Road near the intersection to Upper Box Elder Road in Box Elder Montana.

The Rocky Boy Police Department responded 11:11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Laredo Road. After officers arrived on scene, they found an unresponsive female laying on the shoulder of the roadway. Medical attention was attempted but the girl, identified by the Hill County coroner as Lacey Arkinson, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle fled the area prior to officers arriving. Through investigation, it is believed the striking vehicle to be a 2015-2016 Dodge Journey, which should have damage to its front passenger side.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at the Rocky Boy Police Department at 395-4513 or the FBI office at 265-7181.
