Obituary - Philip Neri Sayers

Philip Neri Sayers passed away peacefully, with family close by, January 5, 2020.

Phil was born Sept. 3, 1938, to Philip J. and Ann (Bercier) Sayers. He graduated from Great Falls Central in 1957 and Northern Montana College 1975.

In 1965 he married Barbara Grace Manchak. He served in the U.S. Navy, Navy Reserve and Army National Guard, from which he retired. He taught art at the Box Elder School and Fort Belknap College and worked as a Native American counselor in the Havre school system. He later delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Kathy Wesley, Theresa Sayers, Lea (Dwayne) Conley, Marie (Tom) Jund; son, Philip (Shelli) Sayers, and a brother, Leonard Sayers. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Kellin, Kara, Jake, Sara, Teshina, Tyler, Destiny, Austin, Zach, Gabby, Rogan, Kenden and Graysen, and five great-grandchildren.

Philip was preceeded in death by his parents; sister, Dee Garrett, and brother George Sayers.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Luncheon will follow.
