Ice frosts the spillway at Fresno Dam Thursday as water going through the dam creates a cloud of steam. Temperatures in the region are about to shoot up compared to the past week - Thursday bottomed out at minus 11 Thursday at the Havre City-County Airport and hit minus 28 Wedesday - with highs expected today in the 20s and rising into the 30s and even 40s for the rest of the week.
More up-and-down weather appears to be heading to this part of the Golden Triangle, with a week's worth of below-zero weather expected to be followed by temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and the warmer weather bringing an earlier-than-usual chance of ice jams.
