Mulleah Stiffarm, HLP Girls Basketball

It’s been a struggle over the last few years for Hays-Lodge Pole girls basketball, but the Thunderbirds are having one of their best seasons in a long, long time. And last weekend, the big season continued as HLP knocked off Box Elder for the first itme in years, behind 14 points from senior standout Mulleah Stiffarm, who also scored eight points in a loss to Roy-Winifred Friday night. Stiffarm, who was all District 9C last season, is averaging more than 15 points and eight rebounds this winter.

R.J. Ramone, Harlem Boys Basketball

The Harlem boys basketball team is rolling right now, and perhaps no one in Harlem or beyond, had it going more than R.J. Ramone last week. In Harlem’s huge win over Box Elder last Friday Ramone scored 25 points, but he wasn’t even close to done. Last Saturday, Ramone poured in 40 points in a Wildcat blowout of rival Poplar, capping a huge weekend for the talented sophomore. Ramone started a year ago for the Wildcats, who are now 9-1 on the season.
