Obituary - Carra Johnson

January 22, 2020, Carra Johnson lost her life to a battle with cancer in Annandale, Virginia. Carra battled and won her first two but her last battle was one she could not overcome.

Born December 15,1946, to Norton and Mary Johnson of Kremlin, Montana, she graduated from Kremlin High School and went on to college from there.

She moved to Annadale, Virginia, in 1974 and lived her entire life there. After a short marriage that ended early, she spent the next 25 years of her life working as the appointment secretary first for Sen. John Melcher and then many years with Sen. Max Baucus. Following years on Capitol Hill, she went to work for Kiplinger Magazine as director of subscription services, retiring when the magazine downsized in 2017.

Carra was always known for her infectious smile and her amazing care in helping people with their problems that they needed help with in life. She successfully launched Kremlin's own internet site and worked countless hours adding information of Kremlin's history to the site. Her desire to learn about her family's history led her down a journey in life that helped source many friends family history and loved ones military history. Always willing to help others in life and with her laughs, she will be missed by all who knew her. You never saw her without a smile on her face regardless of her own health battles in life. In her latter years of life her battle cry was "put on your favorite lipstick and get the job done!"

Carra was preceded in death by her parents, Norton and Mary, a sister, Greta, and a brother, Kirk.

She is survived by Con (Fay) Johnson of Bracken Saskatchewan, Rod and Larry Johnson of Kremlin and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed sorely by her family and friends she met from all walks of life and the world will miss someone who always gave and never asked for anything in return.
