Comment sought on proposed pavement preservation project north of Joplin

The Montana Department of Transportation has announced and invites the public to  comment on a proposal to improve about 10 miles of North Joplin Road going through and north of Joplin.

The project begins at the intersection of US-2 and North Joplin Road and extends north for 10 miles, ending at reference post 10.0.

Proposed work includes applying a new overlay and chip seal, as well as new signing and pavement markings.  The purpose of the project is to extend the life of the pavement and to reduce future maintenance costs.

Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2021depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new Right-of-Way will be needed.

An important part of properly planning for future projects is partnering with the community. Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
