Grief Poem - Winds of Love

Our memories are a loving thing, they last the longest day!.

They can’t be spent or even lent, nor ever snatched away.

Jesus, take care of our dear one and love her/him as we do.

Because she/he was everything, so loving, kind and true.

Dear one, you took my joy with you, the happiest hours

of all.

The tears I’ve shed since I lost you, continue now to fall.

Our lives go on without you, dear, but nothing is the same.

We have to hide our broken heart when someone speaks your name.

Those special years will not return when we were

all together.

But with the love that’s in our heart, you’ll walk with us forever.

In quiet thoughts we live again, the days that used to be,.

Rich in kindness with love and care, how dear you were

to me.

May winds of love blow softly, dear, in whispers that

you’ll hear.

We’ll always love and miss you much and wish that you were here.

If memories tend to make us close, we’re never far apart;

For you are always in our thoughts, forever in our heart.

I never said goodbye, dear one, but that is just as well,

I never could have said goodbye to one I loved so well.

You’re gone across the “River” now, to shore

of Evergreen.

We long to see our dear one’s face, but “River” flows between.

Someday, sometime, oh yes, we’ll see the face we loved

so well.

Someday we’ll clasp their outstretched hand and never say farewell.

Meanwhile the winds of love blow on, wherever we

may roam.

But someday soon we’ll meet again, when Jesus calls

us home.
