Alan was born September 10, 1936, to Anthony and Verda Alex. He was "born on the Gildford Bridge" coming into Havre.

Following his graduation from Havre High, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard several submarines during his service; the USS Greenfish SS-351, USS Sargo SSN-583, and the USS Sterlet SS-392.

In 1964, he married Gail Richards of Poplar. He did many notable things during his lifetime with Gail. He owned and operated numerous small businesses. He was very active in the church. He and Gail loved attending submarine reunions and going to Duck Lake. Alan's rich voice soared in Havre's Barbershop Chorus.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Edward, Marilyn, Dennis and Thomas.

He leaves behind his wife Gail; sisters Cheryl (Bob) Evans and Pam (Ben) Essary; and brother John.

Alan and Gail had no children, but he was a special "Uncle Al" to numerous nieces and nephews.

We know that Alan will be singing in the Hallelujah Chorus upstairs. Go Rest High On That Mountain, Alan.

Anchors aweigh.
