Daniel was born August 1, 1959, in Fort Benton, Montana to Kenneth and Nancy Willson. He was raised in Fort Benton until 1971 when his family moved to Havre. He spent his summers farming with his dad on their farm in Hogeland, Montana. Dan graduated from Havre High School in 1979 and from MSU-N with an automotive degree.

He married Stella Jean Tapia in Havre, Montana, August 18, 1984. In 1989, his daughter, Alyssa, was born. He worked for Havre Schools, driving school bus and Blue Pony activities bus. He loved his chats with his kindergartners and first graders.

Dan had a gentle spirit and it took a lot to get him angry. His gift was his incredible sense of humor. Give him a beer and he was the life of the party. He was always making up little "ditties" that he would sing around the house.

Dan loved anything MOPAR and frequently listened on YouTube to Hemi engines. The louder the better. In the past few years, he and his wife decided they were getting older and the bands they liked were also getting older, so they took every opportunity to see as many concerts as possible.

Dan is survived by his wife, Stella Jean; daughter, Alyssa (Trevor) Solomon; grandson, Nakula Solomon; brother, Steve (Jackie) Willson of Stacy, MN; niece, Meagan (AJ) Larson of Harris, MN; nephew, Colby (Ashlyn) Willson of North Branch, MN; aunts, Debbie Gibbons of Missoula, MT, Kathy Wright of Fort Benton, MT, and Sharon Wright of Lake Stevens, WA; uncle, Jack (Linda) Willson of Fort Benton, MT; two great-nieces and one great-nephew on the way; many cousins; and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Pam; and one grandchild.

Rest well my love, that thunder we hear will be you revving up your Hemi.
