News you can use

Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

We are not alone

You know, Lord, loneliness is no respecter of persons; a group of us gals know that personally, having just met in a support group where we shared our thoughts and feelings. It was kind of surprising that even though we all are grieving, we each have a different feeling about loneliness; we each have a dissimilar point of view, but we all know that You, Lord, are there with us and for each one of us. Yes, "grief road" is difficult, but we're still traveling on.

No matter what, many turn to "drink" because of their loneliness. Others may lose their sanity because of loneliness. We also heard of several who had committed suicide because of their despair of aloneness. Loneliness invades the palace as well as the hut.

But the good news is that thousands have found You, Lord, to be the answer for their loneliness. When we read Your Word, Daniel 3:19-25, Lord, we discover that the three Hebrew children were not alone when they were hurled into the fiery furnace of persecution. Amazingly, there was One with them like unto the Son of God.

We can read dozens of wonderful stories in Your Word, that tells us that we are not alone, that You are there with us. You come to comfort us; You even give some a song at midnight. So, whoever we are, wherever we are, we are not alone, You, Lord, are here with us to give us comfort and companionship.

When we begin to feel all alone, please help us, Lord, to remember that You are always right beside us, You will not forsake(1) us. Yes, we know that sometimes the way seems dark, but You are still there with us and for us, and we thank You, Lord, for Your camaraderie.

Love, Mara.

(1) Deuteronomy 31:6 "... for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
