4-H Exchange holding Pizza Hut fundraiser Thursday

A pizza fundraiser is set for Thursday to help pay for travel expenses for the 4-H Exchange Program.

“The exchange program is called Interstate Exchange and it allows our kids to go and we raise money and we match up with a different place,” 4-H Leader Dominique Preputin said.

She said they have not found a match for this summer, but they are still looking, although they may have to put off the program till summer of 2021.

“It teaches kids about agriculture, about the animals, about different areas, but it also makes friendships for life,” Preputin said. “They go down there, they spend a week with a family and one particular kid that they have matched with and then that kid comes and stays with them and stays with their family. It’s a bond that they make with each other. They learn from each other, and they can grow and develop with each other together in 4-H learning.”

When people paying for a dine-in or carry-out purchase at Pizza Hut Thursday say they want to donate to 4-H 20 percent of the purchase price will go to the 4-H exchange program.
