Lawmakers also in new day with COVID-19

We are in a new day, legislating and politics as we knew it has become learn-as-we-go. The face-to-face meetings are no more, web-based conference is the new meeting protocol. Webex, Zoom, Skype, Conference Call and Facetime are my new norm. It seems everyone has a difference preference as to what is the best. Oh, did I mention Snap Chat and Messenger, all have a learning curve and I am being tested. The good news is, most work can and is being done in this fashion.

The law does allow school boards the latitude to do what they can to continue educating and feed students the best way possible. At our Webex, or was it the Zoom, which ever, we found out the Fed, in the Big Bail Out Bill money, will be coming to help with K-12 and post-secondary costs. Teachers and administration are in the same boat as myself, learning as we go. Please allow them some time to get it all figured out. I have heard from a couple parents after spending a week with their own kids, that maybe teachers are not paid enough. That we all know, at the same time many parents have said they are getting to know one another. In the past, life seemed to get in the way, now if done right we can all bond as families.

I am sure you are getting emails, reading materials, TV, and radio about COVID-19, and is very redundant. Some very important, as washie washie, stay 6 feet away from people, and stay home as much as you can. But there is also a lot of hype, mis-information, and scammers. Therefore, be careful, calm, strong, and above all be safe. For the best information go to the CDC website. Take time to thank your educators, public safety folks, emergency personnel, heath care, and all essential business employees that continual to work.

Yes, Judy and I thank everyone just mentioned. Take care.
