Grief Poem - Gone but not Forgotten

The sun is out, it's nice and warm; we know that it is Spring!

The grass turns green, it's gardening time, we hear the birdies sing!

In sunshine we find perfect peace, we know that God knew best.

Away you flew to God's garden, He bids you gentle rest.

So much my dear, has taken place since you were called away.

So many things to share with you, had you been left to stay

Memories of you do come our way, it happens every day.

Though, absent dear, you're always near, even in a small way.

It's been a while since you left us; your death is grief - despair.

In quiet times, we still see you, resting in your armchair.

We know you're safe in Jesus's arms and free from any pain.

So, rest in peace for God loved you, and soon we'll meet again.

We still do mourn the loss of one, the one we knew was brave.

You were so loved while here on earth, we think of all you gave.

Remembering - 'twas hard to part with one so kind and dear;

And at the time, we little thought your time to leave was near.

Although we're not together now, we'll never be apart ...

Because you have that special place, right here within my heart.

God knows how much we miss you dear, never shall memories fade.

Our loving thoughts still wander on to 'place' where you were laid.

As each day dawns as months fly by, we whisper soft and low,

May God bless us and you as well, we love and miss you so.
