Havre schools education foundation hosting scholarship awards

The members of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Board of Directors said they are pleased to announce they will be hosting a combination drive in and virtual scholarship awards ceremony Monday at 1 p.m. outside of Havre High School.

The drive in portion will be for award winners and their families only.

Virtually, the event will be broadcast live on the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Facebook page.

“The current COVID-19 Pandemic and new normal that we are living in has affected every person in some way,” Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Board Chairman Kyle Leeds said. “The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Board of Directors thought it was important to celebrate the achievements of this tremendous class of seniors at Havre High School and recognize them with these scholarships they have earned towards their post-secondary aspirations.

“The joint scholarships and awards ceremony put on by Havre High School and the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation is eagerly anticipated by the students each year,” he added. “We thank Superintendent Andy Carlson and Principal Ed Norman for working with the foundation to make this scholarship ceremony happen while still abiding by school district and state of Montana policies.”

The Havre Public Schools Education is in it’s 20th year of a foundation supporting Havre Public Schools in maintaining the “Tradition of Excellence” of K-12 Students throughout the district.

“We have thirty-four scholarships this year (awarded) to seniors from Havre High School, and we thank the generous donors for their continued support in making a difference is the lives of our students,”  Foundation Executive Director Cheryl Morse said. “Scholarships have also an important part of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation, and in our 20th year of existence, we are proud to continue the vision Dr. Kirk Miller and the founding members of the foundation had in the year 2000.”
