Local Golf Report: League golf is back in business

Paige Henderson tees off on the third hole at Prairie Farms Golf Course last Thursday night. The round was the first night of Ladies League at Prairie Farms, and it capped the opening week of league golf at both Prairie Farms and Beaver Creek Golf Course. Leagues had been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, but with Montana's re-opening over the last month, leagues and tournaments are moving forward.

Last week was a big one for local golf courses. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game of golf has been a source of fun, an outlet, even a comfort.

And, in Havre, the game took another step forward as golf leagues at Prairie Farms Golf Course and Beaver Creek Golf Course began last week. Leagues were about a full month behind due to the pandemic, but they're underway now.

In men's league at Prairie Farms last Tuesday night, Jeff Jensen fired a two-under par 34 for low gross, while Jared Weigh was low net at 35.5. High team was Myers Ranch with 23.5 points. The team is composed of...
