Benefit set as Nyberg continues fight against cancer

A benefit for Angie Maxwell Nyberg is planned for Wednesday, June 17 at the Havre Eagles Club at 5:30 p.m. to help Nyberg with the second round of her battle with cancer.

Nyberg said she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in July 2018 at Stage 2.

She said she went through chemotherapy treatment, underwent a double mastectomy and had reconstruction and radiation surgery.

She finished her reconstruction surgery this past November, she said, but was re-diagnosed, with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, in February of this year.

The benefit is to raise money for Nyberg's medical expenses and travel expenses for treatment.

The benefit is a sloppy joe dinner and auction.

Benefit co-organizer and friend of Nyberg Laura Lorang said silent and live auctions will take place featuring knives, gift certificates, food baskets, hand-crafted items and more.

Free-will donations are also accepted, she said.

Nyberg said she is from Havre and is an occupational therapist for Havre Public Schools.

"I just want to let the community know that I'm very grateful for all of their support," Nyberg said.

People who are interested in donating can contact Lorang at 265-4576 or benefit co-organizer and Nyberg's aunt Marge Leeds at 265-8827.

"Any donations would be appreciated," Lorang said.
