Hill County jail inmate attempts escape

The Hill County Sheriff’s Office announced that an inmate at the county detention center unsuccessfully attempted to escape custody during a trip to the hospital.

Undersheriff Stan Martin said in a press release that Josh Reid, 41, was taken to the Northern Montana Hospital emergency room Friday about 9:29 p.m. with a detention center officer on standby with Reid.

Reid was being held in the jail on pending charges of partner or family member assault, burglary and probation violation.
