HRDC playground equipment gets facelift with new mulch

Tristan Harkins, a member of Havre Masonic Lodge #50, dumps a wheelbarrow full of new rubber mulch Monday into the Early Head Start playground at District 4 Human Resources Development Council.

District 4 Human Resources Development Council's Early Head Start program's playground received a makeover with help from members of Havre Masonic Lodge #50, the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints volunteers and HRDC Early Head Start program employees.

After years of use, the old wooden playground mulch had broken down into dirt and needed replacing. Volunteers came together Monday to remove and replace the old playground mulch with 6,000 pounds of new rubber mulch.
