Northstars return to the road with Lewistown invite

The Havre Northstars played a late Northern A doubleheader against the Tri-County Cardinals Tuesday night inside Legion Field. But on a short turnaround the Northstars are right back on the road.

Starting Friday afternoon, the Northstars will play in a non-conference tournament in Lewistown. Havre will play two games Friday and two more Sunday, in what should be really good experience for the young Northstars of head coach Patch Wirtzberger.

Havre's tournament in Lewistown kicks off against the Gillette Rustlers, a team from Wyoming, at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. That game is the first of two the Northstars play on the opening day of the tournament. Havre will turn right around and play the Gallatin Valley Outlaws at 3:30 p.m. Friday. That game will already be Havre's third against the Outlaws this summer. Havre played Gallatin Valley two weeks ago at the Havre Jamboree, and again last weekend in Three Forks.

Following Havre's two games Friday, the Northstars will have Saturday off before taking on two more non-conference foes Sunday in Lewistown. The Northstars will play the Glasgow Reds at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, before wrapping up the tournament against the Livingston Braves Sunday at 4 p.m.

The four games in Lewistown will be followed by a quick return home for the Northstars. Next Tuesday, Havre will face the Class AA Great Falls Chargers in a non-conference twin bill at Legion Field, before playing their next 10 games on the road, starting with a four-game tourney in Helena June 25-27.
