Obituary - Randy Joe Nivens

Randy Joe Nivens, 59, passed away after a short battle with cancer, at the Big Sandy Medical Center December 4, 2019.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Big Sandy Cemetery with military honors.

Randy was born in Havre August 22, 1960, to George and Athelia "Dilly" Nivens.

Upon getting his GED, Randy served his country by joining the U.S. Army. He received an honorable discharge and returned to Big Sandy to work with his brother Frank for many years doing construction.

Randy also worked in retail sales and was a familiar face at Walmart, Shopko and the Dollar Store. He enjoyed camping and was an avid fisherman, his favorite place was Beaver Creek Park.

Randy was friendly, he was always happy to see you, always had a kind word and would help out anyone who needed it. He was a loyal friend, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, George and Athelia "Dilly" Nivens; brothers Wes Gorman, Frank Nivens; sister-in-law Joan Nivens.

He is survived by brothers Dennis (Toni) Nivens of Great Falls, Ron Nivens, Big Sandy; sisters, Tammy (James) Houle of Big Sandy, Monica (Jack) Halbert of  Malta, Donna (Bob) Roswell of Rock Spring, Wyoming; sisters-in-law Shirley Gorman of Havre, Lori Nivens of Malta; special aunt and uncle Dick and Lois Zinn of Havre; special cousins Gary and Darrell Zinn of Havre; his adopted family, Cheri Brindle of Big Sandy, Joe Morgan of Big Sandy, Larry Whinia of Havre, and many other family and friends.
