Grief Poem: Lord, Comfort Us …

With heavy hearts we mourn our loss, our loved one’s gone on “home.”

Lord, comfort us, they’ve gone to You, no more on earth to roam.

Gates of memory will never close, we miss dear ones so much.

Their tender love we won’t forget, we miss their gentle touch.

Jesus, take care of our dear ones, and love him as we do.

Because he was everything — so loving kind and true.

Hug him in Your safe arms and guide them through the storm.

Sit with “them,” Lord, in Your sunshine, let gentle wind be warm.

Play favorite music for them Lord, and when You see him smile,

Do tell them how we still love them; they’re thought of all the while.

Sweet memories and so much more, precious to us “their” name.

Though they’re not here, they’re in our heart, that’s where they will remain.

Someday we’ll meet, we don’t know when; partings cause broken hearts.

Deep in our hearts, memories are kept, someday we’ll never part.

Parents, siblings, our spouse or child, we miss them every day.

Lord, comfort us while we’re down here, till You take us away.

We miss dear ones so very much, we know that God knew best;

We were together many years, then God “bid” him to rest.

A special star shines very bright, it’s time to say “Good Night!”

We close our eyes, rest in our bed, wishing Sweet Dreams tonight.
