Helping Haven now open on First Street West

Havre's Helping Haven had its official ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to announce its new location as an affiliate to the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce businesses.

Helping Haven Manager Jill Miller said she feels relieved to now be open.

"It was a lot of work," she said. "Lots of work, lots of time and just glad it's finally open because we were missed by a lot of people."

She said she loves the windows in the new space, where she can see outside, running water is available in the facility as well as a stairway isn't in the facility where they don't have to go up and down with the donations.

"We actually have a donation area, so we're not walking through the store with donations and everything, so that's really nice," she added.

With COVID-19, she said, carts, counters and such are wiped down all the time and masks are not required for entry.

The new location is where fivehead's used to be located, at 615 First Street West #B.

The hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The same times are used for people dropping off donations.

"Everybody come down and have a peek, see how different it is," Miller said.
