Hill County now has six active cases of COVID-19

Staff and wire report

Hill County Health Department confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 in the county, which, along with the confirmed case Saturday, brings the number of active cases in the county to six.

The department said all five of the cases were found through contact tracing.

The individuals are isolated and the Hill County Health Department is performing contact tracing.

The new cases bring the total in Hill County to seven, with one inactive case — a person who has recovered — that was confirmed in March.

The health department said the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus.

The Health Department urges people to practice prevention daily. People should:

• Wash their hands often;

• Avoid close contact with other people;

• Cover their mouth and nose with a cloth face covering when around other people;

• Cover their coughs and sneezes;

• Clean and disinfect;

• Monitor their health.
