From the Courts - State District Court: Man referred to treatment court on DUI charge

Justin Wade Brown was sentenced in state District Court in Havre to five years probation on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs and ordered to complete a DUI treatment court.

Brown was charged Dec. 5 with a felony count of driving under the influence of methylphenidate, with at least four prior DUI convictions, and misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, speeding and operating a motor vehicle without the proper license plates after an officer reported he clocked Brown driving Nov. 23 at 62 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Brown pleaded guilty to the DUI April 8 in a plea agreement.

State District Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz last Monday in state District Court in Havre sentenced Brown to five years with the state Department of Corrections, all suspended and with credit for 147 days served and ordered him to pay a $5,000 fine, suspended on completion of the Hill County DUI Treatment Court.
