No new local COVID cases confirmed over the weekend

Hill County Health Department confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 at 5 p.m. Friday, but has reported no new cases since.

Four of the cases were confirmed through contact tracing, two children ages 0-9, a person in their 20s and a man in his 50s, but the origin of the case in a teenager was unknown and the investigation is ongoing, Friday’s post said.

Blaine County Health Department had no new cases to report Saturday, and also reported that six of the county’s seven cases met the criteria to be considered recovered.

The state map this morning still listed Blaine County with one active and seven total cases.

Hill County had 25 active cases listed on this morning’s update with 39 total cases.

Chouteau County listed two active cases, three total.

Liberty County listed one confirmed case. That case and on of the Hill County cases were confirmed in March, with the rest of the local cases confirmed in July.

People are urged to continue practices to avoid catching and spreading the virus, including practicing social distancing, wearing a mask or cloth face covering when out in public, regularly washing their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap or using hand sanitizer of at least 60 percent alcohol, and regularly washing and disinfecting regularly touched surfaces.
