Obituary - Tyler James Big Bow

Tyler James Big Bow, O-Sah Mistatim (Yellow Horse), 26, passed away due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident Saturday, July 25, 2020, in Sioux City, IA.

Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 29, 2020, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow in the Windy Boy Family Cemetery.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Tyler was born September 28, 1993, in Havre to Maureen Jordan and Robert Big Bow. He was always smiling as a child and as an adult. He attended both Rocky Boy and Box Elder schools, and enjoyed playing basketball. A pivotal moment in Tyler's young life came when he attended Riverside Indian Boarding School. There, he met Peyton Sheridan, the love of his life. Tyler went on to attend the Salish Kootenai College of Nursing and graduated with Peyton in 2017. Soon after, he began working as a registered nurse at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, where he received three awards for his outstanding service work.

Tyler was loved by friends and family and will be missed in this world.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Katherine (First Raised) Windy Boy, Merle Big Bow, Kathy Gardipee, and Darlene Windy Boy; uncles John Henry Windy Boy and Howard Racine Jr .; and aunt Jennifer Windy Boy.

Tyler is survived by the love of his life, Peyton Sheridan; parents, Maureen (Robert Cantrell Sr.) Jordan-Cantrell and Robert Big Bow; brothers, Robert Jordan Cantrell and Howard Racine, III; sisters, Lauren Jayde Jordan-Cantrell, Layla Lyric Jordan, and Angel Starr Jordan; grandparents Myra Windy Boy, Anna Big Bow, Geri (Howard) Racine, Valerie and Cheryl Windy Boy, Alvin (Jessica) Windy Boy, Everette Windy Boy, Jonathan Windy Boy, Wesley (Ursula) Windy Boy, and Larry Bernard; uncles Brian Big Bow and Merle Big Bow; aunts Tara Jordan and Leah Big Bow; and cousins, Shayna Simone Jordan, Gabriel Jordan, Zander Jordan, and Rylie Parker.
