Havre Border Patrol station welcomes new patrol agent in charge Scott Jones

The U.S. Border Patrol welcomed new Patrol Agent in Charge - PAIC - Scott Jones Monday.

Jones' career with the U.S. Border Patrol began in December of 2002 in Bisbee, Arizona, working at the Brian A. Terry Border Patrol Station.  During his time as an agent in the Tucson Sector, he was part of the Horse Patrol Unit and the All-Terrain Vehicle Unit.

Jones arrived in Havre, Montana in May 2008, and was soon promoted to supervisory Border Patrol agent, where he managed and created the Havre Station Occupant Emergency Plan and revised the Continuity of Operations Plan.  He moved up to the position of Deputy Patrol Agent in Charge - DPAIC - at the Havre Station in 2014. While the DPAIC for Havre Station, he coordinated and implemented the Manpower Requirement Determination Program.

Jones was also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local, state, federal and tribal entities in order to leverage resources to aid in the accomplishment of the Border Patrol mission.  Jones served as an acting division chief of law enforcement operational programs, an acting deputy patrol agent for the Sector Intelligence Unit, and has performed as an acting patrol agent in charge at several stations throughout his career. Jones was promoted to executive officer at Havre Sector Headquarters in June 2019.

Jones served in the U.S. Navy from 1986-1990 in San Diego, California, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management.
