Ramona was born February 1, 1933, in Fort Belknap, Montana, to Stanley and Louise (Parenteau) Gardipee. She was raised at Rocky Boy, attending elementary school there and traveling to Flandreau Indian School for her junior high and high school years.

She married Percy Favel in 1953 in Havre, and the couple moved to California and then Washington for Percy’s work. In California and Washington, she worked as a seamstress. The couple returned to Box Elder in 1975, where Ramona worked for the Box Elder Schools as a custodian and also as a truancy officer. Percy passed away in 1996, and Ramona retired in 2016, and moved to Great Falls to live with her daughter.

Ramona was an upbeat, positive woman who enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing poker at the casinos, where she was unbelievably lucky. Although she had many hobbies, her family always came first.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Favel; children Nolan and John Favel and Lorelei Marankovich; parents, Stanley and Louise Gardipee; and brothers, William, Stanley and Henry Gardipee.

Ramona is survived by her daughter Debbie Nass of Great Falls; adopted son, Frank LaBuda of Meeteetse, Wyoming; grandson, Brandon Nass of Everett, WA; great-grandchildren, Braydon and Makaila; sisters, Shirley Seymour of Havre and Mary Brist of Kalispell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
