Hi-Line Volleyball: Sugarbeeters sweep, Wildcats beat Wolves

Last week started it all. Now, the local volleyball season is in full swing.

The second week of volleyball on the Hi-Line started last Thursday with a huge 7C showdown between Chinook and North Star in Chinook. And while the two rivals always battle, it was the Sugarbeeters who earned the sweep, beating the Knights by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-15. Hailey Bell had nine kills and Ginger Hauer added 13 assists for the Beeters, while Jade Wendland had seven kills and three blocks for North Star.

Thursday night also saw Fort Benton thump Big Sandy by scores of 25-3, 25-5, and 25-12, while the Pioneers lost a four-setter to DGS Friday, by scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-19, in what was a good, back-and-forth match.

The action Saturday continued as Chester-Joplin-Inverness scored a straight sets win over Class B Conrad, by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-13. In other Class B action this past week, Harlem split a pair of Northern B matches. The Wildcats lost to Shelby 3-0 Thursday but bounced back to sweep Cut Bank by scores of 27-25, 25-14 and 25-15 Saturday. In the win, Chloe Messerly had seven kills and Taya Trottier had 10 digs and a pair of aces.

No other volleyball scores or box scores were reported to the Havre Daily News as of press time. We would once again like to remind all coaches and athletic directors to report scores and stats to the Havre Daily by no later than each Sunday afternoon in order to get those results in that week's Hi-Line Volleyball Roundup.
