COVID-19 confirmed in Havre Public Schools

Havre Public Schools announced this morning that the district was informed Sunday that a person associated with the district had tested positive for COVID-19.

A release from the school district said Hill County Health Department reports the person was in contact with Havre Public Schools staff and students during the period of possible exposure.

The last contact would have been Sunnyside Intermediate School Wednesday, Sept. 4, four days before the diagnosis, the release said. The person confirmed with COVID-19 has not been at the school since Wednesday, the release said.

The Hill County Health Department will be in contact with any people in the district who were at risk of exposure, the release said, and to determine safe and appropriate actions.

Anyone who feels ill should seek out their medical provider for specific actions, the release said.

“The School District is in contact with the Health Department and reviewing the Centers for Disease Control guidance to complete cleaning of the school and other related facilities, the release said. “The other steps taken by the School District include the continuation of social/physical distancing, the use of face coverings, and frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing.”

The release said people can contact Interim Superintendent Craig Mueller for details about those measures.

The schools will continue to monitor the situation and will provide more information as it becomes available, the release said.
