Betty was born May 28, 1938, in Conrad, Montana, to Melvin Clark and Ella May (Cady) Erickson. She was one of 11 children!

She married William Burdet Hafner April 28, 1984, in San Diego, California, where the couple lived for a few years. Betty was very active. She loved to walk and be outdoors. She participated in many 5K walks in California. In her younger years, she played volleyball and also helped in charity organizations. She was never one to sit still.

She worked as a bookkeeper in the retail industry until she retired. Betty loved animals. She would never turn a stray hungry animal away. They always had a home with her.

In the early '90s, Betty and William decided to move back to Havre to be closer to Betty's family. Betty was always close with her family, they never considered step-brothers and sisters as such. They were all just family. They helped one another out and loved one another all the same.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Hafner in March of 2020; two brothers, and four sisters.

Betty is survived by her sisters Laura Hafner and Sue Roberts, both of Havre, Doris Bishop of Great Falls; her brother Dave ( Dee) Rowin of Arizona; her niece Kathy Etchison of Havre; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two cats, Lizard and Shadow.
