Subzero Superhero Plunge goes virtual during the pandemic

The Subzero SuperHero Plunge is open for entries. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this event has been changed to a virtual event for 2020. The plunge is a fundraising event benefiting the Special Olympics Montana.

To become a virtual plunger people can register and create a fundraising page at http://www.classy.org . They can download the registration packet for more information.

The website said people should come up with a fun and safe way to take the plunge. Some ideas they gave were, take an ice bath wearing a swimsuit, make a snow angel in costume, have a water balloon fight in the snow or a super-soaker battle outside.

To document the plunge, people should take photos or record a 60 second video titled “Freezin’ for a Reason,” the website said. Submit the video or photos to somt.org/plunge by Nov. 22.

The website also gives out ways to tag the organization to help spread fundraising.

Various prizes will given out based in the money patrons raise. Some examples include a 50-inch smart TV, a Polar Plunge duffle bag, and a tumbler.

The prizes will be awarded on the official plunge day, Nov. 28.
