Havre River Rats offers skating, hockey lessons

Havre Daily News staff

Havre River Rats Adult Hockey program is hosting a free Havre Adult Learn to Skate Program to teach anyone 18 and older to skate and play hockey.

The practice sessions focus on the basics of the game — skating, stick handling and puck handling. Organizers, who are members of Havre’s adult hockey league, said they also emphasize fun.

Three practice sessions per week at Havre Ice Dome are open to participants, Sundays, 1-2 p.m., Mondays, 6-7 a.m., and Thursdays 6-7 a.m., but there is no obligation to attend each practice. Equipment is also available for use during the practice sessions.

The sessions are anticipated to last until March or as long as pandemic guidelines allow.

For more information on the program, people can contact Derek Vaughn at 390-5352 or [email protected], or they can visit the Havre River Rats Adult Hockey page on Facebook.
