Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

Saying thank you

You know, Lord, sometimes we just need to say “Thank You, Lord” for being so good to us, for always being so loving and kind. It’s a necessity to speak out and tell others that we are redeemed, that we are saved from our enemies.

In Your Word, we read how the exiles were brought back from the far corners of the earth. They cried out for help and You, Lord, led them straight to safety and to a place to live. So, do we, in this day and age when all sorts of troubles seem to bombard us every which way, do we sit in darkness, in the shadow of death, crushed by misery? Your word tells us to “Cry out to the Lord,” and You will rescue us.

Oh, that every one of us, Lord, would praise You, for Your loving kindness and for all Your wonderful deeds, some seen, some expected, some as amazing answers to our prayers. Let us tell You “Thank You” for each new day, for health, for strength and energy, for our precious family, for daily protection in all things and for all our provisions. You calm the storms and still the waves. What a blessing stillness is as You bring us safely into the harbor. You dry up rivers and turn good land into deserts of salt or — again, you turn deserts into fertile, watered valleys. Those who are hungry can settle there and sow their fields and plant and reap bumper crops! How You bless us!

May good men everywhere, see all that You have done and be glad and give praise to You. May we not be ashamed of praising You publicly — before men and nations. Thank You for your message as we read Psalm 107:43, “Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the loving kindness of the Lord!”

Love, Mara.
