Blue Pony Hannah Haslem signs on to run for MSU-Northern

It's been an exciting run recently for seniors on the Havre High cross country teams. And that includes Blue Pony Hannah Haslem.

Earlier this week, Montana State University-Northern head cross country coach Chad Spangler announced that Haslem has signed with the Skylights to compete in cross country next fall. Haslem joins teammate Tamera O'Leary, who signed with Northern not long ago.

Haslem was a four-year runner in cross country, and a four-time state qualifier, as well. She recently completed her senior season by finishing 40th at the Class A state meet in Kalispell with a time of 22:02.79 for 3.1 miles. Haslem ran for Colstrip before moving to Havre High for her final three years of high school. She is also a 4.0 student at HHS.

"Based on what I've seen, I'm confident that she can get into the 19:00s (for 5K races) next fall and make a run at all-conference as a freshman," Spangler said of his newest recruit.

The Northern women have had plenty of success with former Blue Pony runners, including most recently, Rachel David and Kaylee Nystrom among others.
