Locals appointed to positions by Bullock

Appointments announced Thursday by Gov. Steve Bullock included several local residents and officials.

Megan Hedges of Chester is one of three appointments Montana Agricultural Development Council. Hedges is the owner and an insurance agent with Northern Plains Insurance and the financial manager of Hedges Construction, LLC.

Alvin Windy Boy of Box Elder and Michael Blackwolf of Harlem are two of six appointments to burial preservation board. Windy Boy is the tribal historic preservation officer for the Chippewa Cree Tribe and Blackwolf is the Fort Belknap Indian Community’s tribal historic preservation officer.

Liberty County Commissioner Maureen Wicks of Ledger is one of two appointments to the state workforce innovation board.

Ray King of Harlem and Richard Sangrey of Box Elder were appointed to the State-Tribal Economic Development Commission. King is the executive director of the Nakoda-Aaniiih Credit Agency and Sangrey is the chief of staff of the Chippewa Cree Tribe.

The other appointments Bullock announced Friday were:

Montana Agriculture Development Council

• Lars Hanson, Edgar. Qualification: Public representative who is or was actively engaged in agriculture. Hanson is the bank president of First Interstate Bank in Red Lodge.

• George Kipp, III, Heart Butte. Qualification: Public representative who is or was actively engaged in agriculture. Kipp is a rancher in Glacier County.

 

Burial Preservation Board

• Kevin Askan, Pablo. Qualification: Representative of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Askan is the tribal historic preservation officer for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

• William Big Day, Crow Agency. Qualification: Representative of the Crow Tribe. Big Day is the Crow Tribe’s tribal historic preservation officer.

• Andy Lebrun, Great Falls. Qualification: Representative of the Montana Coroners’ Association. Lebrun is a sergeant with the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office.

• Maurika Moore, Missoula. Qualification: Representative of the public. Moore is the founder and CEO of Hestia Home Advantage.

Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors

• Deb Poteet, Missoula. Qualification: Representative of the public, not engaged in or directly connected with the practice of engineering or land surveying. Poteet is the owner and operator of Poteet Construction.

Board of Outfitters

• Kathy Hadley, Anaconda. Qualification: Sportsperson. Hadley is retired after serving as the executive director of The National Center for Appropriate Technology.

State Workforce Innovation Board

  • Morgan Marks, Helena. Qualification: Workforce Representative. Marks is the program and grant Manager for the Helena Area of Habitat for Humanity, and owner of Morgan Gemay Marks Consulting.

Montana Unmanned Aircraft Systems Council

• Weston Irr, Belgrade. Qualification: Private industry representative. Irr is the director of unmanned systems for Bridger Aerospace and the integrated systems manager for Ascent Vision Technologies.

• Steve White, Bozeman. Qualification: Private industry representative. White does aerial cinematography for Altilux and is an aviation instructor of UAS Fundamentals at Montana State University and Gallatin College.
