The wait is almost over for Northern spikers

Skylights preparing to begin training camp for long-awaited 2020 season, which will start at the end of January

Montana State University-Northern volleyball players run through drills during a practice all the way back in September inside the Armory Gymnasium. While Northern was able to practice some in the fall, there was no actual Frontier Conference or NAIA volleyball season due to COVID-19. Instead, the season was moved to the spring semester of the school year, with the Frontier starting play on the final weekend of January. So, after going well over a year without competitive college volleyball, the Skylights are now just a month away from a season they'll begin prepping for next week.

The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team is slated to finally open its 2020 season January 29-30 in the Armory Gymnasium. Wait, the 2020 season, starting in 2021?

Yes, that's right, the second semester of the 2020-21 school year will play host to the postponed 2020 Frontier Conference volleyball season, which means, the Skylights are now just days away from finally beginning a long-awaited training camp, and exactly one month from playing their first regular season volleyball matches in well over a year.
