Havre Police Department

An arrest was made after officers were called Wednesday at 2:07 p.m. to provide assistance on 11th Avenue. No details about the charges were provided.

Jason Todd Bigknife of Box Elder was arrested on charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant and disorderly conduct and on a Justice or City court warrant after a caller at a Fifth Avenue facility asked at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday for a welfare check on a person possibly involved in a domestic disturbance at a First Street West business.

A non-injury vehicle crash was reported at a First Street West business at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers were asked Wednesday at 8:01 p.m. to perform a well-being check on a someone at a First Street West business.

Katrina Rae Black Elk of Great Falls, 31, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant and on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, driving with no vehicle insurance, open container violation and headlamp violation during a vehicle stop on First Street Wednesday at 9:51 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Marissa Lea Gardipee of Box Elder, 44, was arrested on three Justice or City court warrants and a charge of theft after a caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported a theft Wednesday at 2:49 p.m.

Deputies investigated suspicious activity reported Wednesday at 4:03 p.m. on Main Street in Inverness.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to two calls Wednesday.

Firefighters with Havre Fire Department and Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department were called to the Unified Disposal landfill on County Road 451 Southeast Wednesday at 4:10 p.m. Havre Fire began extinguishing the fire, but turned the fire over to Bear Paw firefighters once they arrived. Bear Paw VFD Chief Josh Bebee said the fire, which was started by ashes being thrown into the trash bin while still hot, was contained in the bin and minimal damage was done because not much other garbage was in the bin at the time.

Firefighters were called to the 1100 Block of 16th Street West at 2:09 a.m. today for a fire in a residential workshop. Havre Fire Chief Mel Paulson said the structure contained extensive damage and the home had some damage. The source of the fire is still under investigation, he added.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held one cat of unknown gender, one female cat, one male and three female 6-month-old kittens, one male 8-month-old kitten and three male cats.

The shelter also held a male 7-week-old Rottweiler-border collie puppy, a male Australian cattle dog-blue heeler dog, a male 8-month-old shepherd puppy, a female 9-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a female shepherd dog and a male 6-month-old shepherd puppy.
