Scheduling for swimming for 2021 wasn't easy. And yet, after Saturday, the Havre High swim teams already have two home meets under their belt.

Inside the Havre Community Pool this past Saturday, the Blue Ponies hosted a pair of first-year swim programs in Polson and East Helena for a triangular meet. And as expected, the Ponies dominated, with the girls scoring 486 points and boys racking up 234.

Individually, Havre had a ton of success Saturday in the pool.

On the girls side, Kyla Burchard won the 200 individual medley, with Megan Miller finishing second and Aaliyah Pratt placing third. Pratt also placed first in the 100 freestyle with teammates Nina Flores finishing third, Willow Riggin in fourth and Allie Messinger in fifth. Burchard also finished first in the 100 backstroke, with Morgan Flammond third, Flores fourth and Emme Lines in fifth. In the 200 free, Riggin placed second, Lines third, Arabella Davis finishing fourth, Kate Hemmer in fifth and Lennon Herdina in sixth.

Flammond would go on to win the 50 free for the Ponies as well, while Tori Messineo was second, Davis was third and Hemmer finished fourth. Nevea Phillips added a third for Havre in the 100 breaststroke, while McKenzie Dean was fourth. The Havre girls dominated the relays, too. Havre finished first in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free.

Not be outdone, Saturday was a big day for the Pony boys, as well.

Conner McKay won the 50 free while Chase Mariani was third. McKay also finished second in the 100 free and Mariani was third. Hiram Cammon took first in the 100 breaststroke, and second in the 200 free, while Brigham Blackwell won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Havre teams also won the 200 medley and 200 free relays.

The Ponies are next scheduled to be in the pool Feb. 6 for a virtual meet against GFH, CMR and Hardin.
