News you can use

Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

March arrived like a lamb

You know, Lord, March is a glorious month, actually, it's one of the most beautiful times of the year. This year it arrived as a lamb. Thank You, Lord. All we need do is look out our windows and see snow drifts melting away. Not only that, there is a smell of spring in the air. Several friends discovered their crocuses and hyacinths are just about ready to bloom! In Montana? That is about to happen with daffodils and tulips also. Spring is arriving in all its glory of color and scents which remind us of a renewal of life - we really need "renewal" right about now. And speaking of life, it is fun to watch the new baby calves discover life as they leap and explore the pastures.

Then there is always the wind, how fun to fly kites on a windy day. Long ago when we were little kids, Daddy made us a couple kites, using newspaper, some sticks and some homemade glue that our Mom had made. Daddy pasted the paper onto a cross make of the sticks. Mom gave us some scrapes of material to tie on for a tail and, of course, we had string, lots of store string. What fun we little kids had on a windy March day.

March has some interesting, special days, also: Day Light Saving Time, St. Patrick's Day - do wear something green! - spring, Passover, Palm Sunday, and, who knows what else!

We need balance in our lives, too, Lord. The winds of adversity are never still; they can and do tip us over but if we hold tight to Your Word, we can be renewed, rejuvenated and enjoy the fragrance of Your Love for us and the innumerable colors that burst forth in spring. Thank You, Lord, for a glorious awaking season. Ah! Spring, it feels so good.

Love, Mara
