Havre's Kendall Pleninger battles at 145 pounds during Friday's opening day of the Class A state tournament in Miles City.

The Havre Blue Ponies began the 2021 Class A state wrestling tournament by sending two to the semifinals, and five still with a shot at the podium. On Friday in Miles City, both Mick Chagnon (120) and Orion Thivierge (170) advanced to Saturday morning's semifinals, while Kendall Pleninger (149), Kale VanCampen (160) and Randy Tommerup (182) are still alive in the consolation round. The Ponies are currently in 8th place overall.

At the B-C state tournament in Shelby Friday, Fort Benton/Big Sandy scored 16.5 points, Chinook scored 13 and Harlem seven. Chinook's Tyler Schoen is in the semis a...
