Seven Blue Pony girls named Northeast A All-Conference

The Havre High girls basketball team is coming off an incredible run to the Class A state championship — the Blue Ponies’ fourth since 2014. And to the victor goes the spoils.

Monday night, the 2021 Northeast A All-Conference Girls Team and Class A All-State selections were announced, and the Blue Ponies had seven All-Conference and three All-State selections.

Havre High junior Sadie Filius made the Class A All-State team for the third straight season, while sophomore Yelena Miller was a first-time selection, and senior Loy Waid was also selected All-State. Glendive’s Jillian Litwiller was the only other Northeast A player to be named All-State.

Filius, Miller and Waid were also named First-Team All-Conference, along with Havre senior Kylie Walker, who was selected All-Conference for the third year in a row. Havre had four of the five First-Team selections.

A pair of Blue Ponies were also named to the second team in sophomore Avery Carlson and senior Britton Paulson, while senior Sydney Wilting earned Honorable Mention honors.

The Northeast A boys All-Conference Team will be announced in Thursday's Havre Daily News.
