406 Custom Auto and Sound opening soon

In a few weeks time, 406 Custom Auto & Sound will open at 600 First St. next to the Siesta Motel. The shop will replace the mechanic's garage and will be used for a variety of car installations.

The shop will install car stereos, remote starts and other car accessories, along with providing other services such as auto-glass replacement, rock chip repair and bed liners. The business' owner is Willie Mandril, who decided to start a business after working in the car service industry for years.

"I've been in the industry for close to 20 years and I've always dreamed of owning my own business, so I finally took the step to go and do my own thing," Madril said.

The shop's store manager, Rob Gonzales, also has experience in the industry. Madril believes that their combined experience will produce stronger service and results for consumers.

"We definitely take a high-end notch at what we do," Madril said. "Extreme standards. Give people the option for better sounding stuff as far as stereos than what's previous and more of a selection of a variety of stuff for the Hi-Line than what's already being offered here."

Madril also believes that his shop's low prices will also attract customers and that this, combined with their high standards will set them apart from the competition.

"Definitely affordable for people to get high-quality work for the Hi-Line," Madril said.

Madril bought the property back in January and eventually began remodeling. The property was originally a mechanics shop with five garage bays. With the remodeling, it will be taken down to three garage bays. They also plan on having a big open showroom and guest-waiting room. Madril has tenatively planned their opening day for April 12.
